Dr. Colleen Patricia Steinke of Winter Park, Florida passed away at her home on October 31, 2010 surrounded by her family after a brief illness.

Colleen was born in Watkins, Minnesota on January 3, 1932 and was the daughter of Joseph and Lucille Fink.  She married Joseph R. Steinke on October 11, 1952 at the church of St. Peter in Eden Valley, Minnesota.  Joseph passed away in 2000.  Joseph and Colleen resided in Minnesota and Wisconsin until the 1972, when they relocated to Winter Park, Florida.

Colleen attended the St. Cloud School of Nursing and received her R.N. degree in 1952.  She received her Honorary Doctorate from Brewer Christian College in Jacksonville, Florida in 2001.

After relocating to Winter Park, Florida and raising her five children, she founded an on-going ministry, Victory in Jesus Ministries World Missionary Outreach, Inc.  In the early 70’s Colleen was instrumental in the Charismatic movement in Central Florida.  For many years she traveled the world with a fervent desire, inspired by the Holy Spirit, to spread the Gospel.  Many ministers were raised and trained under her apostolic mantle. 

She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her ministry team leaders, along with her many friends and acquaintances.

Colleen is survived by her five children; Michael Steinke, Casselberry, FL; Mary Derringer, Maitland, FL; Martha Durham (Tim) Winter Park, FL; Michelle Hagel, Valrico, FL; Mark (Cynthia) Steinke, Fort Lauderdale, FL; Twelve Grandchildren; Eight Great-Grandchildren.  Her siblings include Dr. Robert Fink (deceased) Mary Lou, Mankato, MN; Father Fred Fink, Osakis, MN; Luanne Schmid (John), Mandan, ND; Lorraine Fink, Winter Park, FL; Yvonne Leick (Roger), St. Paul, MN and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Celebration of her life was held at the Embassy Suites Hotel – North Orlando located at 225 Shorecrest Drive, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701 (407) 834-2400 
Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 11:00 am – followed by a reception.

A second Memorial Mass Celebration will be held in Alexandria, Minnesota at the Church of St. Mary’s on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 1:00 pm.

Dr. Colleen Steinke founded Victory In Jesus Ministries World Missionary Outreach in 1976. It has many branches that extend into different areas of ministry. She ministered in over 26 nations since 1979 and had a love for the nations as they did for her.

In 1972 Jesus came into her sick room, healed her of infirmities which she had had for eight years, filled her with the Holy Spirit and called her to be His minister. Within three months Jesus saved her husband and five children and the anointed work of God began. The Steinke family was born in Revival Fire, taught sovereignly by the Holy Spirit. Her family, twelve grandchildren and eight grandchildren are all loving and serving the Lord.

Dr. Colleen had an earned doctorate from Brewer Christian College. In the early years of ministry, she founded Logos Bible College and also the School In The Holy Spirit in Lima, Peru. She was senior pastor of Victory In Jesus Fellowship in Casselberry Florida and founder of the world-wide Prophetic School Of Ministry. Dr. Colleen also served as the chair of the board of trustees for The Kaleo Institute at Brewer Christian College, serving alongside Dr. Ken Brewer as a mentor and guide. Under her apostolic office, Dr. Colleen oversaw those ordained and licensed through her ministry here and abroad, as well as several churches.

In 1990, she founded "The Flying Eagles", a platform for prophetic apostles, prophets and prophetic people to gather to worship and lift up Jesus. This is a place where Holy Spirit speaks through His people to the church, city, community and nation. The Flying Eagles go wherever there are Christians who want to soar higher into the things of the Spirit, for He is our teacher and guide.

"Women Of The Anointing," also founded by Dr. Colleen, is for women in ministry and leadership to edify, encourage, exhort and strengthen each other through fellowship, teaching, and ministering to each other.

Dr. Colleen Steinke was a Revivalist, bringing revival fire with an apostolic-prophetic anointing. This anointing brought restoration, renewal of life and spiritual awakening. She stirred up and imparted the gifts, callings and anointings of God, frequently giving personal and corporate prophesy.

The apostolic call on her life sent her to start churches and to teach and train leaders for the work of the ministry in countries of the world. She experienced the blind seeing, the lame walking, the deaf hearing, cancers and tumors disappearing, etc. as God's anointing for miracles was upon her life. Through crusades and conferences in the nations she led thousands to Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Dr. Colleen's desire for her life was to give her best to God and press toward the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

I tell you every bell in heaven rang
I tell you every angel in heaven sang
As heaven's pearly gates opened wide
And she took her first wondrous step inside
The streets were lined as far as you could see
With those she touched in her ministry
Many whose ears heard and accepted the Lord
Those who were taught how to use their sword
Those who were freed from bondage and chains
Those who were healed from all aches and pains
Arm in arm with her Savior still in awe
Taking in the beauty of each thing she saw
"Enter in My good and faithful servant" He exclaimed
But all she could do is repeat His Holy name
Enjoy heaven you who are so deserving of this rest
While here on earth you always gave your best
So missed by those who still have work to do
Forever inspired are those who ever knew you

I share with you that a very dear friend, spiritual mother and mentor of mine, went face to face with the Lord- Sunday 10/31/10 at 8:01am. Her name is known to many as Dr. Colleen Steinke, Pastor to many others, Mom, Nana ....... including entitlemants & mantles of Prophet, Apostle - all given to her by others in ministry that are of the Kingdom of God.

Proverbs 3:18--She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who hold her faqst.

Mt friend truly walked as wisdom of God. I will be forever grateful to have been honoured by the Father as privileged, to have known her, and to bear arms for this mighty woman of GOD.

I'm thankful to have treasured up all that she released while being with her. Those who knew her will smile within any mention, conversation or thought of her.

Personally, Dr. Colleen Steinke was directly responsible for the founding of KingsWay Christian Ministries. My wife, Teresa and I had been attending VIJ for years when she suggested that we be ordained into the Ministry. We submitted to that and later we started having meetings in our home, located an hour from Winter Park. Colleen became a regular guest speaker and suggested that we incorporate our "work" into a ministry. Since Teresa and I had a future "vision" for which incorporation would be essential, we did incorporate KingsWay on February 1, 1996.

Shortly thereafter, we dissevered our membership from VIJ but retained an "association" with Dr. Colleen and VIJ that continues to this day.

Although not well known locally, Dr. Colleen will certainly be missed by the virtual millions of people around the world with whom she came in contact during those 40+ years.

She surely has earned her "crown"!

I have been praying for you all at Victory In Jesus at this time of great loss. I remember Dr. Colleen always with the joy of the Lord on her face. Dr. Colleen and the Victory team were always so supportive of the work in China and praying for me. I was always touched when I came back home for a visit, Dr. Colleen and everyone at Victory were always excited to have me speak and share about what the Lord was doing in China. I always admired her passion for missions and the strength and grace she drew from the Lord ,as a woman of God, to pastor a church. We were praying for her here in China up onto the time she went home to be with the Lord. Even though others here didn't know Dr. Colleen they felt a loss and sorrow as well. I want to honor her by quoting 2Tim 4:5-7 and putting her name in place of Paul's:

Pastor Colleen wasn't afraid of suffering for the Lord. She worked at telling others the Good News, and fully carried out the ministry God had given her. Her life had been poured out as an offering to God. She has fought the good fight. She has finished the race, and has remained faithful. And now her prize awaits her - the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give her.

I'll be thinking of you all this Sunday. Wish I could be there but I will be in spirit.
